Over three days participants will have access to digital editing software and will edit an audio recording

- To reach an understanding of working with audio-files on Computers in general

Knowledge of the software being used for digital editing
Infrastructure, setting, resources
Depending on the equipment available at a specific radio station: Samplitude Silvercloud, Wavelab for PC is also recommended and Audacity for Linux and Mac (freeware) is acceptable

Segments of 90 minutes per participant on three different days.

How the activity should take place
The participants will cut and edit any kind of recorded material (i.e. a recorded report).
The participants will cut and edit their previously recorded material concentrating on the content and the editing process (i.e. choosing the most important sentences in their recordings).
- Day 1: Every participant/pair is given 90 minutes activity time to cut and edit a 10- minute-long interview (a typical example of a raw work with plenty of clutter selected from the archives by the trainers) to a maximum length of 5 minutes.
- Day 2: Every participant/pair is given 90 minutes activity time to cut and edit in a logical sequence a 15-minute-long interview (picked from the archives by the trainers containing an even larger proportion of the material to be eventually discarded) to a maximum length of 4 minutes.
- Day 3: The different results of previous cutting and editing activities of the same material will be discussed in a workshop attended by all the participants.

Larger Keyboard and Signs on Screen might be necessary as well as special software for Blind People such as the ones outlined here.
